| Too cute! The Maltese is a member of the Bichon Family and is one of the oldest European breeds. The Maltese is a smart little breed, averaging approximately 10 inches tall and weighing in at 4-7pounds. Having the pleasure of owning both breeds, the Bichon and the Maltese, I can personally tell you that the Maltese is finer boned, more delicate, more active...............but oh so fun! The Maltese coat differs from the Bichon in that it is straight and silky and requires daily brushing to keep from matting and shampooing once weekly. We like to brush nitely while watching TV......this makes a more pleasurable experience for the dogs.........being in your lap makes everything less painful! |
